Serve

Serve

Serve

We are invited to be servants – to God and to each other. At WPC, we take that message to heart.Do you see an area where you would like to serve?

Sessions, Deacons, and Trustees
Session oversees the life of the congregation, Deacons
provide care to our members and the community and
Trustees manage the church property. Members are elected annually to each group. We are blessed to have so many
members who give their time by serving on these boards.
Councils and Committees
The Education, Stewardship and Worship councils and WPC Connections oversee various aspects of church life. There are also multiple committees ranging from Mission and Service to Annual Giving to Peacemaking and Social Justice. Please let the church office or one of the pastors know if you would like to join a committee and they will help you find the right one.
Ushers and Lectors
Volunteers are needed each Sunday to assist as ushers or
lead the first portion of worship (Bible readings and prayers). Contact the church office if you are interested in serving.
Fellowship Hour
An opportunity to socialize after worship. Volunteers are needed each week to prepare and serve coffee, tea, cold beverages,
cookies and other snacks.
Sunday School Teachers
More than 30 individuals are committed to teaching children
and adults. They work in teams and teach every second or third Sunday, making it easier for new people to get involved.
Rise Against Hunger
Several times a year, more than 50 people of all ages gather
for a few hours to assemble 10,000 packets of food that are
then sent to both third world countries and poor areas of the
U.S. The energy is contagious!
One and Done
For those wanting to help but who are not interested in a major commitment, WPC offers opportunities to assist with a single event, such as the Strawberry Festival, Trunk or Treat or Easter Egg-stravaganza; preparing a meal for a shut-in; talking to youth during grandparents’ night or teaching once during summer Sunday School. Contact a member of WPC Connections, Deacons, Education Council or Pastor Taylor to find out how to volunteer.
