This month’s speaker is Lawrence Husick, an attorney, professor, entrepreneur, and counter-terrorism researcher. He is a graduate of Conestoga High School, Muhlenberg College and the Washington College of Law. He and his family have lived in Tredyffrin Township for more than 30 years.

He was, until last year, that rarest of political animals, a moderate Republican. He now works for nonpartisan reform causes – and will talking about gerrymandering on behalf of FairDistrictsPA, a nonpartisan joint effort of the League of Women Voters and Common Cause of Pennsylvania.

Gerrymandering is the process of drawing political maps that allow elected officials to choose their voters, rather than voters choosing our officials. It’s a threat to democracy, and Pennsylvania has some of the most Gerrymandered districts in the United States. FairDistricsPA is working to change this so that We, the People, once again have a fair voice at the ballot box.

There is no charge for the luncheon, but a free-will offering will be accepted. Wallingford Presbyterian Church is located at 110 E Brookhaven Rd, Wallingford, PA. For more information, please contact Mary Payne at 610-357-1192.
