Summer Music The Chancel Choir and Bell Choir both begin their summer hiatus starting Memorial Day weekend – which means that starting then we switch to Summer Music. This summer we’ll have a Summer Choir, Summer Taizé Sundays, and Summer Soloists. Here’s more information about all three summer offerings:

Summer Choir: Summer Choir is open to anyone who likes to sing – you don’t have to be a member of the chancel choir! It’s also open to all ages, so kids, youth and adults are invited to come and sing together. We’ll meet at 9:15 and learn one or two songs to sing that morning in worship. It’s a low commitment way to be part of music here at WPC – you can sing either time or both times! Summer Choir will be held on June 25, and a Sunday in July TBD.

Summer Taizé Sunday: Summer Taizé Sunday will feature music from Taizé throughout the service. Instrumentalists especially are invited to participate in this event, though singers are needed too. Open to all ages, even if you’ve never come to a Taizé Service before! Summer Taizé Sundays will be on June 11 and a Sunday in August TBD.

Summer Soloists: Musicians of any age are invited to share their musical talents by singing or playing for a weekly service. It can be a solo, a duet, or even a small group. I can help you pick music if you need, and even find a duet partner. Summer Soloists will be part of worship all Sundays when there is not Summer Choir or Summer Taizé.

To volunteer to sing or play, or for more information about any of the summer music offerings, please email Liz Braden at music@wallingfordpres.org.
