On Saturday, April 1, from 1-4 pm, Wallingford Presbyterian Church will be holding a free “Shred and Fed” event in the church parking lot (110 East Brookhaven Road, Wallingford). This is an opportunity to bring papers and documents to be shredded in a highly secure, mobile shredding unit operated by professionals from Docuvault Delaware Valley while you watch. Please bring paper only. Plastic bags, metal, binders, binder clips, and credit cards cannot be shredded. (Paper clips and staples are acceptable.) While the event is free, we ask that you bring a donation (voluntary) of non-perishable food items to go to food banks at Chester Eastside and City Team. Alternatively, you can make a monetary donation to these local food banks that provide much-needed support to our neighbors in Chester. This is event is open to everyone, so please spread the word! (No businesses please.)

Results: No fooling…WPC’s April 1 Shred and Fed event was a great success. 132 cars drove into our parking lot during the afternoon, dropping off 6,500 pounds of paper that was shredded. On the mission side, enough non-perishable foods were collected to fill two mini-vans, and cash donations totaled $633.00. The food and money were donated to food banks at City Team and Chester Eastside. Thanks to everyone who volunteered at or participated in this community outreach event.
