Jane Spencer Redgrave, age 97, a longtime resident of Wallingford, passed away at home on June 1, 2015. Jane graduated from Friends Select School in Philadelphia and from Hollins College in Virginia. Her love of children then led her to pursue a graduate degree in Early Childhood Education from Temple University. Jane’s career plans were diverted with our country’s entrance into World War II after which the arrival of two sons, a lifetime commitment to family, church and charitable organizations dominated her life.
Along with her parents, Owen H. and Jessie M. Spencer, she was predeceased by her only sister, Dorothy Wilson, and her beloved husband, G. Richard Redgrave.
Jane is survived by her sons, Arthur and Owen Redgrave, daughter-in-laws, Jennifer and Sally, and three grandsons, James, Joshua and Rick.
