Support our church partners in Cuba! Urge steps toward normalization of US-Cuba relations!


Last Fall, Stated Clerk, Rev. Gradye Parsons, joined twenty-one U.S. religious leaders in a letter to President Barack Obama urging “concrete action to pursue a path toward improved relations with Cuba.”  The letter backs a similar appeal from Cuban religious leaders sent to the President last May.

The faith leaders called on President Obama to initiate direct, high-level dialogue with the Cuban government; remove Cuba from the United States’ list of state sponsors of terrorism; and exercise his executive authority to lift all restrictions on purposeful people-to-people travel between the United States and Cuba.

A delegation of religious leaders from Cuba ― led by the Rev. Joel Dopico, pastor of Varadero Presbyterian Church and stated clerk of Matanzas Presbytery of the Presbyterian Reformed Church in Cuba ― are visiting administration and congressional leaders in Washington, D.C. today and tomorrow,February 26th and 27th.  They will be urging US leaders to take steps toward normalization of US Cuba relations.
