Maundy Thursday is the Thursday of Holy Week.  It is the evening that WPC has traditionally gathered to remember the Last Supper of our Lord with his disciples through the sharing of the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper, and then recalled the events of Jesus’ Passion; his time in the garden, his arrest and trials, the abandonment of Peter and the other disciples, and Jesus death  on the cross through a Service of Shadows, or Tenebre Service.

This year’s Maundy Thursday observance will begin with a Passover Meal, or Seder beginning at 6:15 PM in Fellowship Hall.  In this supper we will learn about the traditional Jewish Seder, the Passover meal that Jesus shared with the disciples, participating in a portion of the ritual they would have followed, and then sharing in a light meal of soup, bread, and fruit.

Then at 7:00, gathered at our tables in Fellowship Hall, we share the bread and the cup of the Lord’s Supper, remembering the words of Jesus as he instituted this sacrament at the last supper he shared with his didicples..

At 7:30 we will move to the Sanctuary, to our “Garden of Gethsemane,” for the Tenebre Service, hearing the account of Jesus’ passion and death through Word and music.

All are welcome to come and worship, for the entire evening of remembrance, or for any of its individual parts.  Please let us know if you plan to attend the Passover Meal by signing up in Fellowship Hall, online by clicking register, or by contacting the church office at 610-566-1644, ext 0.
