A community where all who seek God are welcome

Delco Environmental Fair – April 14

The 3rd annual Delaware County Environmental Fair will be held at Strath Haven High School on Saturday, April 14, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. As in years past, SPC is a lead partner of the planning committee and is working with other organizations and churches (incl. Wallingford Presbyterian & Swarthmore Friends) to bring environmental stewardship to Delaware County residents. Our themes this year are an Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Expo (with the Tesla, Nissan Leaf, Chevy Volt, and Ford hybrid) and A Taste of the Earth (with presentations, demonstrations, and exhibits around cooking and eating more sustainably). There will be over 50 exhibitors, presentations, and demonstrations from which to choose, including creative children’s activities, info on home energy conservation and landscaping, and a wide variety of other nonprofit organizations, governmental agencies, and companies dedicated to improving the environment. THERE WILL ALSO BE FREE RAFFLES EVERY HOUR! You can also bring your electronics for recycling from 10 to 3 and your personal papers for shredding from 10 to 2. Delicious BBQd food will be prepared and sold by the Chester Co-op and Occasionally Yours. It should be a great day, and we encourage everyone to come out and enjoy it.

Volunteers are needed from 8 – 9:30 AM to help set up the fair.  If you are not volunteering for clean-up day at WPC, maybe you could help out at the environmental fair.
